ORGANISATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
Directly Reports to: Operations Manager
Indirectly Reports to: CEO

Background
We are a petroleum products trading, bunker supply and marine logistics support firm. As the commercial operator of a 2KT tanker vessel, we have supplied bunker fuel to numerous offshore locations in Lagos and Port Harcourt, Nigeria. We also have business relationship with bigger vessel owners as operations demand.

JOB SUMMARY:
As part of our expansion plan, the incumbent will contribute in the development of the company’s operations systems by determining products/bunker handling and storage requirements; develop, implement, enforce and evaluate policies and procedures; develop processes for receiving product, equipment utilisation, inventory management and overall marine logistics activities of the company.

The incumbent oversees the workings of the company’s logistics operations. Plans, manages, and implements schedules to ensure deadlines are met, and maintains a high quality standard of product production and delivery.

SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Operational

Coordinates logistics activities that affect operational decisions and business requirements
Responsible for the procurement and planning of logistics operations
Communicates with all relevant employees to ensure delivery times are met
Plans, schedules, and reviews workload and manpower to make sure targets are being met on a cost-effective basis
Manages the stock control, and checks that inventory records are accurate
Ensures the logistics team has enough time to procure and deliver products based on the client’s request
Creates a detailed schedule based on strict deadlines
Communicates any changes in the order or delivery date to relevant parties
Monitors supply chain management standards
Makes sure the working environment maintains access to quality equipment and products
Purchases products, materials and services that are to be transported
Follows up on interruptions to the order
Organises, plans, and implements inventory activity
Confirms that health and safety regulations are followed
Provides guidance to employees or teams

QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE

1st degree in Engineering, Transport and Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration etc. or other relevant field.
5 – 7 years operational and logistics experience in related bunker or marine fuel business
Relevant professional qualification from a reputable organisation would be an added advantage.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED
