RISK MANAGEMENT COMPLIANCE OFFICER

JOB DESCRIPTION

The office bearer shall work with functional managers in establishing effective risk management in their areas of responsibilities. The officer shall have the resources to effect enterprise risk management across departments, functions & activities of the corporation. He/She shall have the responsibility for monitoring progress and assisting managers in reporting relevant information across every section of the company

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Establishing enterprise risk management policies, including defining roles & responsibilities and participating in seeing goals for implementation

• Framing accountability & authority for enterprise risk management in functional unit

• Promoting an enterprise risk management competence throughout the organization, including facilitating development of technical enterprise risk management expertise and helping managers align risk responses with the company’s risk tolerance

• Guiding integration of enterprise risk management with other business planning & management activities

• Establishing a common risk management language that includes common measures around likelihood and impact some common risk categories

• Overseeing development of company’s business specific risk tolerances and working with managers to establish control activities & recommending corrective actions where necessary

• Facilitating managers in developing protocols, including qualitative and quantitative thresholds and monitoring & reporting processes

• Reporting on progress & outliers and recommending actions as needed

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree in Business administration, Economics, Commerce or any similar course. MBA will be of added advantage. Full professional qualification of ACCA, CIMA, CPA or equivalent

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

• At least 4 years work experience in risk management and or monitoring

• Project planning and management skills

• Analytical and facilitation skills

• Risk transfer, quantification and modeling skills

• A healthy balance of risk, rather than extreme risk taken or avoidance behaviour

• Basic information technology skills
